Today, we’re sharing the poster for A Note Toward Tomorrow!
And while a poster is just a single frame, this project has been anything but still. It’s been full of movement, voices, music, and, most importantly, stories that deserve to be heard.
From the very beginning, this documentary became something deeper than a production. It became an invitation to listen.
To listen to the kids who are discovering who they are through music. To listen to families who are navigating challenges with resilience and hope.To listen to a community built around care, opportunity, and belief in what’s possible.
Working alongside the Jazz Empowers team opened my eyes in ways I didn’t fully expect. What they do goes far beyond teaching music. They are creating space for expression, for confidence, for futures that might not have felt reachable before.
And being trusted to help tell that story has been one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had.
As a producer, you’re often thinking about logistics, timelines, deliverables. But this project constantly reminded me of something bigger: the responsibility of storytelling.
To slow down.To pay attention. To really hear what someone is saying, not just with words, but with presence.
I’ve learned that stories like these don’t need embellishment. They just need care. Honesty. Time. And someone willing to listen.
There were moments during filming where everything felt incredibly simple - just a kid holding an instrument, a quiet conversation, a shared laugh. But those moments carry so much weight. They’re the ones that stay with you. The ones that remind you why stories matter in the first place.
Because when we take the time to listen, we create connection. When we tell stories with intention, we create understanding. And when we share them, we create impact.
A Note Toward Tomorrow is, at its core, about possibility. About what can happen when someone is given support, encouragement, and space to grow. And I truly believe this is a story that needs to be seen.
I’m deeply grateful to the families who trusted us, to the kids who let us into their world, and to everyone at Jazz Empowers for the work they do every day.
This poster is just the beginning.
I can’t wait to share the film with you all. ✨
